Project Summary
Waimahia Inlet is a community of 295 homes located in Weymouth, South Auckland. It is now fully occupied and over half of the whānau living in Waimahia Inlet are Māori. The community includes a residents’ association and community services including parks and an early childcare centre.
This project was developed in a collaborative partnership between Te Tumu Kāinga, the Housing Foundation local mana whenua, Tamaki Collective, CORT and the Crown.
In addition to investing in the development of this project, we supported 80 Māori whānau to access and own homes at Waimahia, mainly through a shared ownership programme – see how it works.
